Ameresco and its predecessors have worked with the public sector in the UK for a number of years providing energy consulting services, energy efficiency advice and demand response.
Working with the public sector to modernise its estate
Ameresco provides energy efficiency, consulting and energy services to government, the NHS, education providers and housing estates across the UK.
Local Government
We work with councils to help them with energy procurement and cost management. Our services include recovering overcharges going back up to six years resulting from historic billing errors for electricity, gas and water.
National Government
We participate in framework agreements such as those run by Crown Commercial Services to provide an array of energy services to the public sector. In addition, we provide demand response services to National Grid.
Healthcare
We provide demand response and energy efficiency services both directly to the NHS and through frameworks such as the Carbon and Energy Fund.
Higher Education
We help institutions with planning and developing new facilities, arranging electricity, gas and water services. We have also consulted on CHP projects and gas purchases, including negotiating long terms supply agreements.
Schools
We work with schools to help them with energy procurement, energy efficiency, renewable generation and site and facilities upgrades.
Public Housing
We provide cost effective portfolio management services to operators of large housing property portfolios who need to manage the process of buying energy for a number of small properties and manage the process of tenants occupying and vacating properties.
